Donut DashThis past Sunday I ran the most delicious run of my life, the PNE Donut Dash. This family friendly 5K fun run is hosted by Try Events, and is a no brainer if you like running/ walking , having fun and mini donuts.

8 Tips for back to school fitnessThe dog days of summer are slowly coming to an end and the backpacks and school supplies are right around the corner. In one sense, it’s a relief. The kids will be in school and there will be quiet around the house again (unless you have toddlers or babies at home like I do).  But we all know it’s not that easy. With the school year comes the added stress of homework, extracurricular activities, making lunches, and waking up early.

Indoor Cycling During Pregnancy

If its been part of your fitness routine and your OBG gives you the OK there is no reason you cannot continue participating (with modifications) through your pregnancy.  For me it was the perfect low impact cardio workout, I had to give up running early on because my bladder just couldn’t handle it, however I was able to keep cycling until 34 weeks.  Here are some tips from my experience.

Motherhood & Exercise- The Struggle is Real!

IMG_2653With a solid 15 year fitness routine I figured it would be easy to maintain my fitness routine post baby. BAAAAHHHHH!!

When I think back to my pre-baby, 5am, multiple workouts a day, self and talking to fitness clients and mothers about making time for fitness….I want to throat punch my old self. I have said it once and I will say it again, before I had a baby I had no idea.  Motherhood and exercise is no easy feat- the struggle is real.

I can tell you right now, if I didn’t have an established fitness lifestyle before my babe arrived finding the motivation to incorporate fitness into life with an infant or toddler would not be a priority.
