As some of you may already know I have recently become Instagram famous with a repost by @bigsplashpark. 😉 With my new found fame I thought it would be the perfect opportunity for a FUN post. So if you are looking to make a splash this summer at the new and improved Big Splash WaterPark read on for my review.
I was reluctant to do this point, but it forced me to read my original objective of the year and provided a much needed reminder. At the beginning of this year, I decided that 2017 isn’t just going to be about crossing goals off my list, it’s going to be about how I want to feel.
For 2017 I want my life to be less about drama and the desire to be in control. Focusing on nurturing important aspects of myself and my life, such as my well being- mental and physical- my relationships, and my career. In 2017 I want to feel calm and balanced, I want to forgive the past, release the future and SHOW UP for the present.
So how have I been doing?
When I think back to my pre-baby, 5am, multiple workouts a day, self and talking to fitness clients and mothers about making time for fitness….I want to throat punch my old self. I have said it once and I will say it again, before I had a baby I had no idea. Motherhood and exercise is no easy feat- the struggle is real.
I can tell you right now, if I didn’t have an established fitness lifestyle before my babe arrived finding the motivation to incorporate fitness into life with an infant or toddler would not be a priority.
It’s been over a months since I’ve returned to work after maternity leave. I never thought going back to work would be as difficult as it has been. Before having my little guy I expected to walk back into the office as the firecracker that I was pre-babe. After having him I discovered how profoundly unrealistic that was. Expecting to walk into the office the same person I was when I left is the professional equivalent of expecting to wear my favorite pre-pregnancy pants out of the hospital. Ain’t gonna happen.
