One of my favorite holidays traditions is a stocking fundraiser I help to coordinate for a local women’s shelter.

Last year we donated 95 stockings, and over the last 13 years we have raised over 968 stockings. This years goal is 75 stockings.

This confidentially located shelter, provides a safe, caring environment for women and their children fleeing from domestic violence.   Offering counseling, support, and advocacy to help these women and children and provide a chance to heal.

Staying on Track during the holidaysWhatever you are celebrating this December, the holidays are a time to unwind, relax and celebrated holiday traditions.  All of this unwinding, relaxing, and holiday tradition seems to create and endless to-do-list and a multitude of social event.

The holidays are supposed to be a time where you enjoy comfort foods. You tend to relax a bit more than usual and share happiness with your loved ones.  Except… you are usually filled with guilt and shame about what you ate  and your lack of exercise.

Buying gifts can be difficult regardless of how well you know the person you are buying the gift for. In the worse case, that person doesn’t have any special passion or interest. In the better case, he or she is enthusiastic about something.  The latter option has its flaws too, since you have to be well-familiarized with the object of his/her interest.
