Motherhood & Exercise- The Struggle is Real!

The struggle is realWith a solid 15 year fitness routine I figured it would be easy to maintain my fitness routine post baby. BAAAAHHHHH!!

When I think back to my pre-baby, 5am, multiple workouts a day, self and talking to fitness clients and mothers about making time for fitness….I want to throat punch my old self. I have said it once and I will say it again, before I had a baby I had no idea.  Motherhood and exercise is no easy feat- the struggle is real.

I can tell you right now, if I didn’t have an established fitness lifestyle before my babe arrived finding the motivation to incorporate fitness into life with an infant or toddler would not be a priority.

Motherhood- adjusting to the New Me

MotherhoodNo matter how many people tried to warn me nothing prepared me for Motherhood.

Once I stopped expecting motherhood to feel warm and fuzzy all the time life got much easier. Its helped to give myself permission to feel frustrated, angry, and tired sometimes.  It doesn’t make me a bad parent, its just normal.

My First Month as a Mom

New MomThis past month as a new Mom has been an absolute blur., you can read all about that here.   I’ve cried, I’ve laughed, and I’ve been able to function with minimal sleep.  At times I have never been more happy in my entire life, and at other times I have never been more frustrated.  I think the best advice I’ve read lately from Austin Moms Blog is, You need to lower your expectations…..then probably lower them again.” It’s taken me 24 days to write this post, and that’s OK, I have managed to get dressed almost every day 😉 Continue reading
