Indoor Cycling During Pregnancy

Indoor cyclingWondering if it’s OK to take Indoor cycling class during pregnancy?? If its been part of your fitness routine and your OBG gives you the OK there is no reason you cannot continue participating (with modifications) through your pregnancy.  For me it was the perfect low impact cardio workout, I had to give up running early on because my bladder just couldn’t handle it, however I was able to keep cycling until 34 weeks.  Here are some tips from my experience.

How do I want to feel in 2017 -6 month Check-In

2017 GoalsI was reluctant to do this point, but it forced me to read my original objective of the year and provided a much needed reminder. At the beginning of this year, I decided that 2017 isn’t just going to be about crossing goals off my list, it’s going to be about how I want to feel.

 For 2017 I want my life to be less about drama and the desire to be in control.  Focusing on nurturing important aspects of myself and my life, such as my well being- mental and physical- my relationships, and my career.  In 2017 I want to feel calm and balanced, I want to forgive the past, release the future and SHOW UP for the present.

Indoor Cycling- Importance of a Good Playlist

indoor cycling playlistI’ve been an Indoor cycling instructor for over ten years,  during this time I’ve learned quite a few things about teaching group fitness.  I have had success and a few failures, all of which have helped me to become a better, more confident instructor.

As an instructor it’s important to choose music you love that gets you “pumped.” The more I “feel” the music, the more it comes out in my voice, energy and instruction- and the more it gets everyone else energized and excited.   With that being said its equally important to know your audience, what gets me pumped might not work for my class.  It’s important to meet them on common ground.  Read on for some of my insights into teaching and one of my classes favorite playlists.
