Halloween Family Fun- Richmond B.C.


It’s the time of year when creepy skeletons and ghoulish ghosts walk the streets  in search of a bone-tingling fun.    This year Richmond, B.C. has plenty of ghoulish  fun for children and families alike. Below are our top 5 highlights  to help you plan your Halloween Family Fun.

THE HAUNTED SEA: HALLOWEEN AT THE CANNERY


October 2nd- oct 31st  (11:00am – 4:00pm) Admission: adult $11.90 Youth under 17 and Society members are Free

A spooky month long event  at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery.  Including creepy sea monsters, aquatic ghosts, and glowing jelly fish.  The jelly fish are always a highlight for us.

Wizardland- Richmond Lavanderland

Oct 16,17, 23,24, 30,31  (10am – 5pm)  Tickets: $10 Under 3 years – Free

Richmond’s Lavenderland has been transformed into Wizardland for the 2021 Halloween season for the first time ever.  This fun family-friendly farm outing is perfect if you are looking for something new with a twist of magic.

There are plenty of crafts, including a chance to decorate your own wand and brew your own potions.  There are fun games including a pumpkin ring toss, and a chance to “pick a Witches nose” for a prize.   With local vendors and  food trucks on-site as well as the Steveton Sweet Shoppe there is something for everyone.  Check out their Instagram page for daily updates.

THE PUMPKIN PATCH AT RICHMOND COUNTRY FARMS


October 6 – 30 (10am- 4:30pm daily Admission: $12-$20

An annual highlight the Richmond Country Farms is a Pumpkin Patch extravaganza.

Pumpkin Promenade (walk-out)

Walk out to the Pumpkin Patch and pick one pumpkin of your choice. While you’re there, enjoy the beautiful sights, the Corn Maze, and don’t forget to make a stop at Country Vines Winery before you leave.

Wagon Experience (Ride out):

Ride out to and from the Pumpkin Patch on a tractor-drawn wagon, with an entertainer who will entrain you will holiday music.  Pick a Pumpkin of your choice,  enjoy the food vendors. For safety , social distancing measures have been put in place on the wagon ride.

The farm put down hay to mitigate the mud, but its a pumpkin patch so it really cannot be helped, if you ask son, it  was one of the best parts.   I strongly suggest wearing appropriate clothing and food wear and bringing a change of clothes & shoes for when you are done.

Steveston Scarecrow Crawl


October : throughout the month Admission: free

Throughout t October, Steveston Village in Richmond is taken over by scarecrows, This year marks the 8th Annual Steveston Scarecrow Crawl, and our 3rd year.

You will find “one-of-kind” scarecrows lurking outside of many of the store fronts and restaurants. This has become an annual tradition for my son and I.  A perfect tribute to autumn, and a fun build up to Halloween

TRICK OR TREATING IN STEVESTON


October 31 (3-5pm) Admission: free

Trick or Treating returns to the Village this year!  Merchants around the village will be handing out candies.  Pick up a map of participating business at the Steveston Visitor Center (3811 Moncton Street).

Open to local costumed kids .  No bunching up – please social distance.
