In my last post I reviewed Ronald McDonald House B.C & Yukon and how it is sooooo much more than a house, which you can read all about HERE.
Today In (Part 2) of this series I am going to review a “Home For Dinner” Friendsgiving fundraising event I hosted last Sunday. As well as other ways you can giveback, and help to spread the word about this amazing organization and initiative.
I have spend a bit of time at Children’s Hospital in the last 3 years. Neither of my kids had life treating illness, but I will never forgetting walking those halls and the pain and uncertainty I could see in some of those faces.
When I heard about the #HomeForDinner fundraising initiative I felt compelled to contribute and help to spread the word about the organization and the initiative.
What is Home for Dinner?
As I mention in part one of this series #HomeforDinner is a third party fundraising initiative benefiting the families of RMH BC. The idea is to get your village involved and celebrate the tradition of sharing a meal. Instead of bringing a bottle of wine your guests can contribute something even more meaningful. A donation that will ensure that families can continue to share everyday moments like eating a home-cooked meal together when it really matters most.
Our Home for Dinner Friendsgiving Main
I decided on a ham for because it seemed the simplest main for my remedial cooking abilities. When making your own ham there are several choices available to you but make your life easy and go with a spiral sliced ham! It will allow you to skip a couple of prep steps and after cooking, it will go from oven to platter in minutes.
I highly recommend the Kirkland Signature Spiral Sliced Ham available at Costco. I’ve enjoyed this in the past so I decided to give it a go on my own and it was a hit.
Other ways to Contribute
Bring together a group of your friends, colleagues or family to cook a healthy, delicious meal for our families. You can also challenge your group to a fundraising goal! RMH has many ways Family Meal groups can get involved with fundraising for RMH BC, including setting up a team fundraising page.
If you feel so inclined, you can support our #HomeforDinner event by donating HERE
