Jump, kick, punch , block, throw a Party that is going to rock! Thanks to Richmond Martial Arts we had a board breaking good time at your Karate Birthday Party!
The first step to planning a kid’s birthday party is always choosing a theme. This year Sweets chose a Karate theme. Full discourse; he has never tried Karate, it is unclear where this came from but were were happy to accommodate.
Read on for all the details to plan a 6th birthday birthday including decoration inspiration that is simple and affordable.
Some themes will be easier to find party accessories for, more than others. Thankfully Amazon saved the day with a few simple accessories that helped to bring the whole party together. Read on for more details and links to purchase.
LOCATION:
With a Karate theme the obvious choice to host the party was at Richmond Martial Arts, on Hammersmith way.
We held a 1.5 hour private party with seven children ranging in age from 3.5-7 years old.
The facility is large and spacious with a generous party room. YOU CAN BRING YOUR OWN FOOD AND DRINK which is always nice, and they have plenty of child and adult seating. An instructor is included with the party package. They teach a 45 minute class and also help while the kids are eating and with clean up which is a total bonus.
Our instructor Mr. Jake was energetic, and enthusiastic, while being patience and firm enough to keep the boys focuses for the full 45 minute class. The class itself was a fun specialized karate class with no experience necessary. After food and cake the Birthday Boy got to finish the party off with a Hi-ya! Breaking a board with his hand and earning himself a white belt.
Also worth noting that Richmond Martial arts offers a “Parents Night Out” every Saturday from 5pm-9pm for ages 5 and up. Group activities and snack and pizza are included, pre-registration is required. For more details lick the link above.

Karate Birthday DÉCOR:
I wanted the focus of the party to be on the martial arts and not on the décor, so I didn’t invest a lot of time of money here. I ordered the below items from Amazon, for a minimal investment of time effort and money.
