Hosting a Class Essential Oils 101

This past Tuesday I hosted an essential oil class with my oil guru, Jordan.  One thing that I love about essential oil classes is that they are so informative.  Even if you are already and avid user you are guaranteed to learn something new.  Plus its great to share experiences and results with others.

I kept things simple with light snacks and tea but wanted to share two of my favorite recipes from class.  A simple diffuser recipe, and a delicious butter spread that uses  Lavender essential oil. Read on for some simple recipe ideas.

Oatmeal Cookie Diffuser Blend

This blend is currently my favourite fall diffuser blend. It smells like you just baked a fresh batch of cookies without all the work!  The best part is it’s calorie free.  I love that I can create a warm and inviting scent in my home without the harsh chemicals and toxins that come with candles and plug in devices.  Plus I get aromatic benefits from the therapeutic properties in the oils I diffuse.  Both Cedarwood and Wild Orange are calming oils and help reduce anxiety and stress. Wild orange also helps to increase focus and concentration as well as uplifting mood.  Cassias’  sweet cinnamon aroma balances emotions and also is an aphrodisiac.  (Can’t say I didn’t warn you;)

Lavender Honey Butter

Mash together a stick of softened butter with 1 drop of Lavender essential oil, ½ teaspoon vanilla, and 2–3 tablespoons of honey. Spread butter on warm biscuits, scones, or toasted whole grain bread.Hosting a class
